64 cattle rescued in Fulbari, three arrested

Siliguri, 06th October: 64 cattle and buffaloes were rescued in Fulbari, on Tuesday. Three people, identified as Mohammad Mahbul, Ganga Roy, and Mohammad Makim were arrested in the incident. While Mohammad Mahbul and Ganga Roy are residents of Bihar, Mohammad Makim is a resident of Uttar Dinajpur.


According to sources, the police received a tip-off that a pickup van and two trucks were smuggling a large number of cattle from Bihar to Assam. The NJP police, acting promptly, raided Fulbari Toll Plaza on Tuesday and detained the suspected pickup van. 8 cattle were rescued from the vehicle. On the other hand, 56 buffaloes were rescued from two trucks. 3 people were arrested in the incident.

There are several cases against them in different police stations. The three were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
