Kharibari, 22nd May: A wild elephant claimed the life of a 56-year-old resident of the North Ramdhan Jote area under Kharibari block Raniganj Panisali Gram Panchayat.
As per the report, the incident took place when eight elephants, on Friday morning, entered the said area and went on a rampage. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot and recovered the woman’s body.
While the corpse was sent it for an autopsy, an investigation has been launched into the incident.
