Dinhata, 27th October: Sensation prevailed after a man was shot dead on the night of Vijaya Dashami. The deceased has been identified as Ruhidas Biswas (50). The horrifying incident surfaced from 538 Singimari village under Dinhata Sub-division.
As per police and local sources, Ruhidas Biswas was in his house on late Monday night, during which some miscreants suddenly shot him and fled away. Following severe head injuries, the family members rushed him to Dinhata Sub-Divisional Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Police have started an investigation into the whole incident. The body has been sent to Cooch Behar Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.
