49 smuggled buffaloes rescued from postal parcel trucks in Phansidewa, two arrested

Phansidewa, 08th February: In a recent development, 49 buffaloes were rescued from two postal parcel trucks at Paschim Madati Toll Plaza in Phansidewa. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the smuggling.


According to police sources, the breakthrough came after receiving a tip-off about buffaloes being smuggled in postal parcel trucks. The animals were being transported from Bihar to Assam, with plans to smuggle them into Bangladesh.

Acting on the information, police conducted a raid and seized the two postal parcel trucks. Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Warish, both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were arrested.


The arrested individuals were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Saturday. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident to uncover further details.
