Siliguri, 11th February: Based on a tip-off, the Siliguri police launched an operation in the Fulbari area on Monday night and rescued 44 cattle before they could be smuggled. 5 men, identified as Rohit Ahmed, MD Ajgar, Hafizul Sheikh, Shahidul Rahman and Kabil Sheikh were arrested in connection with the incident. A truck has also been seized.
According to police sources, the cattle were being transported to Assam from Bihar. The arrested accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
