Siliguri, 15th December: A minor dispute over 3 rupees escalated into a violent clash between a female lottery seller and her customers at Khaprail More. Both parties have filed written complaints against each other at Matigara Police Station.
According to police sources, two young men visited Munna Mandal’s lottery shop to buy tickets worth 105 rupees. During online payment, they paid 3 rupees less. When the seller asked them to pay the remaining amount, the men allegedly abused her, leading to a heated argument that quickly turned into a physical altercation.
The lottery seller alleged that the men threatened to throw acid on her and harm her son. She also accused 10-12 people of vandalizing her shop and assaulting her husband and son. She has demanded strict legal action against the accused.
The customers have also filed a complaint against the seller. Matigara police have started investigating the allegations from both sides.
