21-year-old girl missing from NBMCH for 48 hours, no clues found

Siliguri, 18th December: A 21-year-old girl from Kranti in Malbazar has been missing for more than 48 hours after visiting North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for treatment. Despite extensive investigations and reviewing CCTV footage, no trace of the girl has been found, leaving her family increasingly distressed.

According to reports, the girl had come to NBMCH with her elder brother, Ajirul, on Monday for stomach-related tests recommended by a doctor during an earlier visit on November 29. While standing in a queue for the tests, Ajirul briefly went to the ticket counter. When he returned, his sister had disappeared.

Ajirul searched the entire hospital but could not find her. A missing person complaint was lodged at the Medical Outpost on Tuesday. Police have since been investigating but have yet to make any progress in locating the girl.

Interestingly, a few hours after the incident, the girl’s elder sister reportedly received a call from an unknown number. The caller claimed that the missing girl had gotten married.

Police are now focusing their investigation on tracing the unknown number to gather more information about the case. The incident has raised serious questions, particularly as the missing girl was not seen leaving the hospital in any CCTV footage.
