Siliguri, 19th January: The 20th Ashish Day Memorial Tournament, organized by the NF Railway Employees Union’s NJP branch in memory of the late Mail Train Manager Ashish Day, began on Sunday at the NJP Railway Ground. Twelve teams are participating in the tournament.
Reportedly, Chief Guest Satish Jyoti and Area Manager Mohit Joshi attended the opening ceremony. Branch Secretary Ranjoy Chand and Bhaskar Tar paid tribute to the late Ashish Day, highlighting the significance of this tournament.
In the opening match, the Railway Diesel Branch and the Commercial Department faced off. The Diesel Branch won the toss and chose to bat, getting all out for 129 runs. In the final over, the Commercial Department secured a five-wicket victory. Saifullah Khan was named the Man of the Match.
