Siliguri, 19th November: The NJP police succeeded in investigating the theft of mobile tower batteries. 16, out of 24, stolen batteries were recovered and 7 people have been arrested in the incident.
It is to be noted that theft of mobile tower batteries is being reported from different areas of Siliguri for the past several days. As batteries worth lakhs have already been stolen, private companies have lodged complaints in this regard at NJP police station as well as various other police stations under Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
Based on the complaint, the NJP police launched investigations and arrested 3 (on Sunday) and 2 crooks on Monday.
According to police sources, 2 more people have already been arrested and interrogation is being carried out to recover the remaining stolen batteries.
