Rajganj, 25th August: The Ambari Outpost Police arrested a youth and seized a substantial amount of cannabis from his possession. The arrested accused has been identified as Biswajit Barman (22) of Cooch Behar Patchara village.
According to police sources, a small freight vehicle, heading to Siliguri, was detained by the Ambari outpost police during a Naka Checking in Sahudangi More. 143 kgs of cannabis were recovered from the vehicle. Police arrested the owner of the vehicle after investigating the incident.
Ambari outpost OC Sajal Roy said that Barman has been arrested on charges of smuggling cannabis. He will be produced at the court today.
