Siliguri, 16th January: Twelve shops were burnt to ashes in a fire at Ambikanagar Bazaar adjacent to NJP, on Saturday night.
According to local sources, a fire broke out at a fish market in Ambikanagar on Saturday. A mobile shop and 11 other fish shops were burnt to ashes. Meanwhile, NJP police and 3 fire engines reached the spot after receiving the news. The fire was brought under control after an hour.
The shop owners said that valuables worth lakhs were destroyed in the incident. Police have started an investigation into the cause of the fire.
