12-foot-long python rescued from tree in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 18th October: A 12-foot-long python was rescued from a tree in Naxalbari after it strayed into a residential area on Thursday night, likely in search of food.


The massive snake was spotted by locals, who reported the incident as the python climbed a tree. The Naxalbari police, along with personnel from the Tukriajhar Forest Department, responded to the scene. After nearly an hour of effort, the team successfully rescued the snake by cutting down the tree.

Forest department officials confirmed that the python will undergo a mandatory health check before being released into a deep forest.
