Rajganj, 11th July: An approximately 11-foot-long python was found trapped in a fishing net, creating panic among locals in the area near Sahudangi Health Centre under Rajganj block.
According to local sources, the python was found entangled in a net placed in a household pond for catching fish. After noticing the snake, residents informed the Forest Department.
Forest personnel from the Ambari Range soon reached the spot and rescued the python after a prolonged effort. A forest department official said the python was unable to move due to being trapped in the fishing net.
The rescued python will undergo a preliminary health check-up before being released safely into the forest, the Forest Department said.
