Siliguri, 18th October: Sensation prevailed after a young woman was drowned to death while bathing in the Panchanai river near Dagapur, Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Priyanshika Tamang, a resident of Darjeeling.
It has been learned that Priyanshika used to stay in a rented house in Dagapur. The tragic incident occurred when she went to bathe in the Panchanai river along with 5 of her friends. Upon receiving the news, the Pradhan Nagar police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
