Bagdogra, 03rd August: In a recent development, a father and son duo have been arrested in Bagdogra for assaulting a youth on suspicion of being a thief. The incident occurred in Chowpukuria in Bagdogra.
Reports indicate that last Thursday night, Sahibul Ali, who had left home after a domestic argument and was resting in front of his elder brother’s shop, was brutally attacked. Local residents Jeevan Kumar Roy and Sunirmal Roy are accused of assaulting Ali with an iron rod.
Sahibul was discovered in a bloodied state the following day and was initially admitted to Bagdogra Rural Hospital before being transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). The police have arrested both suspects and were presented in Siliguri court on Saturday.
