Siliguri, 13th March: A youth was apprehended by the police while attempting to sell brown sugar. The accused, identified as Mohammad Imtiaz, is a resident of Ashraf Nagar area. Authorities recovered 300 grams of brown sugar from his possession, with an estimated market value of ₹10 lakh.
According to reports, on Wednesday night, Mohammad Imtiaz was waiting for a customer in the South Colony area near NJP, carrying the contraband in his bag. Acting on a tip-off, officers from NJP police station reached the location and caught him red-handed.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Thursday for further legal proceedings.
