Siliguri, 16th January: A youth, identified as Joy Sarkar, was arrested in Siliguri for kidnapping a minor.
It is to recall, on January 14, a 16-year-old resident of Saktigarh area under Ward No. 31 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation went missing. The family members of the minor lodged a complaint at the NJP police station alleging Joy Sarkar to be behind the act.
On the basis of the complaint, the police launched an investigation. While the police rescued the minor on January 15, Joy Sarkar was arrested. He was produced in the Jalpaiguri court today.
