Siliguri, 16th January: A man killed his own brother in Street No 8 of Sitalapara under Ward No 31 of Siliguri. The locals and the family members alleged that Narayan Mandal (35) had been bothering his family members for a long time. On Wednesday afternoon, Narayan started quarreling with his elder brother, Keshav Mandal, and suddenly attacked Keshav with a sharp weapon.
Soon after the incident, Keshav Mandal was rushed to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the local people tied Narayan Mandal up and reported the matter to the NJP Police. NJP Police rushed to the scene and took the accused under custody. The local people and the family members have demanded strict punishment for Narayan Mandal.
The accused has been presented in the Jalpaiguri court, today.
