Workshop on ‘The Basics of Filmmaking’ organized at University of North Bengal

Siliguri, 20th February: A workshop on ‘The Basics of Filmmaking’ was organized by the Department of Mass Communication at the University of North Bengal. The expert panel of the workshop comprising of industry experts and academics shared their professional wisdom with the students and also held practical sessions with them. Shempenn Khymsar, Director based in Los Angeles and currently working on a bilingual film project from Darjeeling, lead the panel discussions. Other experts like Anmol Gurung, Director of film Appa, Sushil Rajpal, national award-winning director and cinematographer, Malay Ray, award-winning cinematographer, and Sumanta Bondhapadhyay, the HOD of film studies in Vidyasagar College for Women attended the event. More than 40 students participated in the workshop which ended with the production of two 2-minute short films which were screened at the venue. The workshop coordinator Dr. Abhishek Das, the Head of the Department, also gave a short speech at the event.
