Woman missing from Matigara found in Siliguri, 3 detained

Siliguri, 01st March: A woman named Sujata Karji, who was reported missing from the Bhangapul area under Matigara police station on Saturday was rescued from Siliguri’s Mahatma Gandhi Chowk (Air View More) on Sunday. The police have detained 3 youths, identified as Mohammad Shaheed Khan, Mohammad Aris Khan and Mohammad Saheb Khan in connection with the incident. A vehicle was also seized by the police.


According to sources, Sujata eloped with her lover on Saturday. The woman’s family then filed a missing report at the Matigara police station. Based on the complaint, the traffic police carried out an investigation in Siliguri’s Mahatma Gandhi Chowk (Air View More) today and found Sujata on her way towards Manipur along with her lover and his friends.
Currently, the police have taken the entire group to the Matigara police station for further investigation.
