Darjeeling MP Raju Bista attended a meeting held by the Bhartiya Janta Party Siliguri Organizational Committee, on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed the rampant violence allegedly unleashed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons in various parts of the region and also the worrisome COVID situation in the district, particularly Siliguri, Matigara-Naxalbari, and Kharibari blocks.
MP Bista stated that “thousands of party workers and even innocent civilians have suffered due to the acts of arson, violence, and terror spread by TMC goons.” Bista accused the state administration of remaining silent on the ‘acts of terror’. He assured to stand against those spreading violence and will hold the state administration responsible for all the violence.
“I want all our karyakartas to know that they are not alone, the entire BJP family stands with them. We will fight against this menace unitedly,” the MP stated.
MP Bista requested the administrative officials to kindly uphold the oath they take before assuming office. “Their allegiance is to our Constitution and our Nation, and not to any political party. Their impartial handling of these violence is important to ensure that the values of our Constitution is not diminished,” he added.
“Our party karyakartas across Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars will also be actively participating to provide assistance to fight against the COVID pandemic. We are working to establish a network of support to ensure that timely help reaches to all those in need,” MP Bista said.
Later in a statement released by Raju Bista, he assured the people that the MPs and MLAs they have elected are working for the public’s interest, and are coordinating their efforts with the Union, State and local administration so that the BJP can facilitate better response in these difficult times.
