WBPCC writes to CM regarding poor conditions of hospitals in North Bengal amid coronavirus outbreak

Sujoy Ghattak, Secretary of West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC), wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee bringing her attention to the dismal infrastructural conditions prevailing in hospitals and medical colleges in the districts of North Bengal.

In the letter, Ghattak urged the CM to:

  1. To ensure the supply of a sufficient number of protective equipment ventilators and testing kits in the medical colleges and hospitals of North Bengal. It would not be out of place to mention that recently a large section of migrant workers have returned home in districts of North Bengal. Hence, maximum testing is required for ascertaining the quantum of victims.
  2. To select a hospital in and around Siliguri for exclusive treatment of COVID-19 patients

West Bengal has reported more than 30 positive cases and 6 deaths as of now.
