Darjeeling, 22nd February: During the fifth anniversary of the Sherpa Cultural Development Board being celebrated in Darjeeling’s Chowrasta, West Bengal State Minister for Education Partha Chatterjee informed that a meeting would be called soon to discuss the fee hike in private educational institutions in the state.
The minister’s statement comes amidst the posters against the rise of private school fees that were put up in Chowk Baazar under the name of Janta (public).
Taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chatterjee said that they should work more for the public rather than scare them with tactics like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). “According to the constitution, all religions are equal and if anyone tries to break that it would distance them from the people,” the Minister further added.
