Two youths caught red-handed stealing from passengers’ bag at NJP railway station

Siliguri, 16th November: In a recent incident on Saturday, two youths were caught red-handed while stealing mobile phones and money from passengers’ bag at the NJP railway station.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Gaurav Roy from Jalpaiguri and Krishna Dey from Cooch Behar. According to reports, passengers caught the accused in the act as they were cutting open a passenger’s bag to steal mobile phone and money.

The passengers immediately alerted the police, and the NJP Traffic Guard Police arrived at the scene. Information was subsequently passed on to the NJP police station.


Upon receiving the report, police reached the spot and took the two suspects into custody. According to police sources, both accused had been frequenting the station for a long time, with a habit of roaming around and stealing bags, mobile phones, and money from passengers before fleeing the scene.
