Kalchini, 22nd December: Sensation prevailed in the area of Pashakha Road in Kalchini block after a horrific road accident claimed the lives of two while three were injured.
The deceased have been identified as Deepen Tamang and Anand Shiva, both are said to be residents of the neighbouring state of Bhutan. Reportedly, a lorry was parked on the side of the said road on Wednesday night. A speeding car heading to Jaigaon hit the lorry from behind. The collision led five people on board seriously. After the accident, all five were rescued in critical condition and taken to the hospital where two of them died while three who sustained injuries are currently undergoing treatment.
At present, the police have started a further investigation by sending both bodies to Alipurduar District Hospital for postmortem.
