Alipurduar, 26th March: Two people were injured in a bison attack in Chepani area of Alipurduar – II Block. The injured have been identified as 75-year-old Renubala Debnath and Mahitosh Roy.
As per the report, the Chepani village is situated near the Chhipra forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve. The wild animal apparently got out of the forest in the early hours of Friday and entered the residential area. It went on to attack the elderly woman Renubala Debnath and another person from the same village Mahitosh Roy.
Both the victims are said to be in a critical condition and are currently undergoing treatment at Alipurduar District Hospital. On the other hand, Samuktala police and forest personnel rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was received.
