Siliguri, 15th February: Sensation ensued after the police of NJP Police station arrested two people with 30kg of cannabis from their possession. The accused have been identified as Tarakeshwar Nath and Krishna Das, residents of Maharashtra and Siliguri respectively.
According to police sources, based on a tip-off, on Tuesday evening, the police of NJP police station searched two alleged suspects in the Sipahipara adjacent Natun Bazar area of Fulbari.
On conducting the search, 30 kg of cannabis was recovered from their scooty. After this, both were arrested on the spot. The cannabis was smuggled to Siliguri from Cooch Behar, whose estimated market value has been estimated at Rs 3 lakh. The arrested accused have been produced in the Jalpaiguri court today.
