Siliguri, 29th September: Two men have been arrested in Siliguri after brutally beating a dog to death. The incident occurred in the Upper Bhanunagar area, under the jurisdiction of Bhakti Nagar police station, following a dog attack on a child. The arrested youths have been identified as identified as Subhash Mandal and Subhash Das.
According to reports, a child was bitten by the dog while playing near his home. The injured child was subsequently admitted to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment. Enraged by the incident, two local youths tracked down the dog and killed it.
A complaint was filed by an individual at the Bhakti Nagar Police Station, leading to the arrest of the two accused. On Sunday, the two were produced before the Jalpaiguri Court.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing problem of stray dogs in the city. These animals often pose a threat to pedestrians, especially children, leading to incidents of violence against them. Despite numerous complaints, the local administration has failed to take adequate measures to address this issue.
