Bardhaman 01st January. Five people, including two children, were killed when a sand-laden truck lost its control and crashed into a house. The incident took place around 2 pm on Tuesday. After the incident, the local people protested vigorously in front of the police station. However. the police eventually calmed the agitated mob by assuring proper action would be taken. People allege that the truck driver was drunk at the time of the accident. One person has been detained in the incident.
The bodies of the victims were sent for postmortem. The case is under investigation.
