Darjeeling, 26th February: Tiger hill located about 12 km from Darjeeling experienced fresh snowfall on Wednesday from 6 in the morning. Despite the rain, about a 3-inch of snow had accumulated after a continuous fall in the area. Temperatures in Darjeeling dipped to 6 degrees.
As news of snowfall spread around town, tourists flocked the area with many maintaining it was their first time experience. The locals were also seen heading to see the snow in Tiger Hill. Snowfall was also seen in areas like Dhotrey, Sandakhpu, Phalut, Rimbick and Garibas.
More than 5-inch of snow recently fell in Sandakphu in Darjeeling, on February 23. On the other hand, Darjeeling town experienced snowfall in January 2019, after almost a decade. The locals, as well as the tourists, were ecstatic by the snowfall which fell for more than four hours.
