Tourism destinations of North Bengal will soon be rejuvenated: Goutam Deb

Siliguri, 03rd February: State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb informed that the tourism department is busy preparing for the rejuvenation of various tourist destinations of North Bengal, while addressing the reporters after a meeting at the Mainak Tourist Lodge in Siliguri, on Monday. The tourist destinations mainly consist of Darjeeling, Gajoldoba, Malbazar, and Cooch Behar.


He informed that a meeting has been held, today, with the Chief Secretary of the State Tourism Department, Nandini Chakraborty, along with the officer of the Hill Tourism Department. He informed that discussions regarding the development of all the tourist places of North Bengal were held in the meeting. Discussions regarding the rejuvenation of the Botanical Garden in Darjeeling was also held. The Botanical Garden consists of various types of trees and plants which are now on the verge of extinction and are found only in Darjeeling. Therefore, the Botanical Garden of Darjeeling will be completely renovated.

Meanwhile, he also stated that the rejuvenation work of the tourism building in Malbazar will commence soon. Also, the second phase of the Siliguri Mainak Tourist Lodge will commence. In this context, the rejuvenation work of various tourist destinations of North Bengal will commence soon.
