Siliguri, 21st December: A three-vehicle collision at the Darjeeling More Traffic signal on Friday night left one driver injured and caused significant traffic disruption.
The accident occurred around 10 p.m. when a private vehicle and a passenger vehicle bearing a Sikkim taxi number were halted at the signal due to a red light. A speeding traveller bus with a Government of India board, coming from Matigara, rammed into the Sikkim taxi number vehicle from behind. The impact caused the taxi to collide with the private vehicle in front.
Hearing the loud crash, local residents quickly gathered at the scene. Police teams from Pradhan Nagar Police Station and Junction Traffic Guard also arrived promptly to manage the situation. The Pradhan Nagar Police seized the traveller bus involved in the accident.
The collision led to traffic congestion at Darjeeling More, which was eventually cleared. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
