Siliguri, 13th March: Siliguri Junction Traffic police successfully apprehended a thief and recovered a stolen scooty within a couple of hours due to their prompt action.
According to reports, on Thursday morning, Subaran Ghosh, a resident of Ganesh Ghosh Colony under Ward No. 46., went to Church Road at Airview More for work, where he had parked his scooty near the animal hospital.
However, when he returned after finishing his work, he saw that his scooty was missing. After this, Subaran Ghosh lodged a complaint of theft at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
On the other hand, the thief had reached the Darjeeling More traffic point while fleeing with the scooty. Meanwhile, the police, conducting ‘naka checking’, stopped and questioned him.
On suspicion, the traffic police investigated the number of the scooty and learned that the scooty was stolen. After this, the police of the Junction Traffic Guard detained the thief and handed him over to the police of Pradhan Nagar police station.
According to information received from police sources, two mobile phones were recovered from the accused. It is suspected that these mobile phones may also be stolen. Further investigations are currently underway.
