Temples remain closed for devotees on Ram Navami amid lockdown

Siliguri, 02nd April: Today marks the auspicious occasion of Rama Navami. However, the entire country is under lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Following the guidelines of the administration, temple authorities have restricted the devotees from entering the temple premises to avoid mass gatherings. A similar scene was witnessed at the Hanuman Mandir of Mallaguri.

Every year crowds of people gather in front of the temple on Ram Navami, but the temple was quite deserted today due to the lockdown.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Ram Navami Organizing Committee appealed to all the people of Siliguri to light a lamp and perform bhajan kirtan (reciting) at their respective houses.
