Stepping out in public without mouth mask might cost you

Siliguri, 14th August: Despite repeated reminders to wear mouth masks while stepping out in public, several people fail to follow the protocol. They often put a blind eye to the gravity of the present alarming situation and are spotted roaming around the streets without wearing masks or face covers.


In this regard, the District COVID Task Force held a meeting along with various market committees at Siliguri State Guest House on Friday. The members of the Vyavasayi Samithi were informed that campaigns will be launched in the markets soon regarding the safety measures to be taken amid the pandemic.

Besides, it was made clear that all traders and buyers must wear masks in the market, failing which a fine will be imposed on them. The violators might also be arrested if necessary. Besides, the administrative officials informed that the traders are likely to undergo rapid tests.


During the press conference today, the members of the Bidhan Market Vyavasayi Samithi stated that the campaign would be carried out in accordance with the administrative decision. Awareness will also be raised through miking on behalf of the Samithi members.
