Statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Major Durga Malla unveiled by Goutam Deb in Siliguri

Siliguri, 23rd January: The statues of two freedom fighters, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Major Durga Malla, constructed by the Bhanu Bhakta Samiti at Veer Jawan Chowk under Ward No. 3 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, were unveiled, today, by the State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb.


The programme was inaugurated by Minister Goutam Deb by lighting the lamp. Apart from Minister Goutam Deb, the Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Ashok Bhattacharya, Ward No. 3 Councillor Ram Bhajan Mahato, former Siliguri MLA Rudranath Bhattacharya, the members of the Bhanu Bhakta Samiti and the people of the Ward No. 3 were present during the event.


During the event, the family members of the brave martyr Subhash Thapa of Bagdogra was provided with the financial assistance of 25 thousand rupees by the Bhanu Bhakta Samiti. Meanwhile, a cultural program was organized by the Bhanu Bhakta Samiti to commemorate the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, today.
