Siliguri, 08th May: In light of the COVID-19 lockdown, the Darjeeling District Trinamool Chhatra Parishad President Nirnay Das extended his helping hand towards the needy.
It has been learned that Roy, with the assistance of the police and several voluntary organizations, has been distributing cooked meals among the poor families ever since the nation-wide lockdown has been imposed.
Roy, with the help of his friends, cooks a variety of meals regularly for around 2000 people which is then distributed among the helpless and hungry people in different parts of the city with the help of the police-administration and voluntary organizations.
In this context, Nirnay Roy stated that he has been feeding the poor people from the last 45 days after being inspired by the words of CM Mamata Banerjee. He further maintained that several people have stepped forward to help him in this regard and he assures to take more such initiatives during the entire lockdown period.
