Siliguri teacher Abhishek Prasad in India Book of Records, becomes 1st in India and 2nd in Asia in old Stamp Paper collection

Siliguri, 04th June: In a significant achievement, Abhishek Prasad, a teacher by profession, has made it to the India Book of Records. Abhishek, a resident of Tumba Jote under Matigara, Siliguri, after completing his education, started researching on stamp papers. Notably, the true dedication and hard work of the teacher have brought laurels to the city.


According to reports, from the year 2019, Abhishek started collecting stamp papers, which, in no time became a staggering collection of 1200 stamp papers. The collection includes stamp papers issued before and after India’s Independence. Despite several shortcomings, Abhishek continued with his efforts.

According to the information, the representatives of India Book of Records were present in an exhibition that was organized at North Bengal University in which Abhishek had taken part. Subsequently, impressed by Abhishek’s art, his name was registered in the India Book of Records. Additionally, he was awarded a medal and certificate.


It is worth noting that Abhishek Prasad has now become the first person in the country and the second person in Asia in the old stamp papers collection. Speaking in this regard, Abhishek said that he has a bigger dream of having a museum in Siliguri with his collection of old stamp papers and world currency. Further, he stated that these old stamp papers also provide information about history.
