Cooch Behar, 24th February: The election campaigning of various political parties are going on in full swing ahead of the Cooch Behar municipal election which will be held on February 27. The newly elected mayor of Siliguri Goutam Deb campaigned in different wards of Cooch Behar including Mathabhanga and Tufanganj in support of TMC candidates, on Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, the mayor left for Alipurduar after offering prayers at the Madan Mohan temple in Cooch Behar. He was accompanied by Partho Pratim Roy, Chairman of North Bengal State Transport Corporation.
