Siliguri man loses Rs 91,000 after bank account hacked

Siliguri, 15th November: The Siliguri police is probing a possible case of bank account hacking after a retired worker lost Rs 91,000 from his account.


It is learned that on Sunday afternoon, Kamal Deo Roy, of Ambikanagar, received a message on his mobile phone regarding cash withdrawn from his bank account in two phases. Initially, he assumed it to be a technical fault. He approached the police today as the money was not returned to his account.

Kamal Deo Roy said that he received two messages around 12:30 pm yesterday. In the first phase, 86 thousand rupees and later 5 thousand rupees were debited from his account.
