Shyam Thapa will step down if the construction of an academy is not approved in Siliguri

Siliguri, 09th January: Addressing a press conference in connection with the Sukna Gold Cup football tournament at the Siliguri Journalists Club, on Thursday, former Indian footballer Shyam Thapa stated that the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri should host football matches and not cricket matches. He also stated that a residential academy should be constructed.


Addressing the press conference, Shyam Thapa further stated that he is the Chairman of the North Bengal Games and Sports Board and has applied for the construction of the academy to the State Government. He further mentioned that he would resign from his post if the State Government does not approve the construction of the academy.
