Alipurduar, 05th March: Sudden fire burnt a shop to ashes at the Sarugaon Tea Garden area under Falataka block of Alipurduar district.
According to the shop owner, he tried to extinguish the fire along with the locals, however failed to do so. Following which, the fire brigade was informed. A fire engine of the Falakata fire department reached the spot and brought the fire under control after an hour. However, the entire shop was destroyed in the incident.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire break out.
