Siliguri, 09th February: During a press conference at the Siliguri Primary School council office, Dr Suprakash Roy, Chairman of the Primary School council, stated that a new Shiksha Bhawan is likely to be constructed in Siliguri.
Roy said that the Shiksha Bhawan will be constructed inside a school in Ward No. 27 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation. As the said school is non-functional for the past several years, a decision has been made to convert it into a Shiksha Bhawan.
The proposal has been submitted to the School Education Department. Construction work will commence as soon as permission is granted. 2.77 crore rupees has been allocated for this project.
Dr Suprakash Roy further said that for a long time, an attempt was being made to build a Shiksha Bhawan in Siliguri. However, it could not be created earlier due to various reasons.
