Siliguri, 06th April: In support of several demands, the Darjeeling District Committee of SFI protested by gheraoing the District School Inspector’s office. Today, members of the SFI Darjeeling District Committee from Siliguri Children Park reached the District School Inspector’s office through a rally and demonstrated.
In this regard, Ankit Dey, Secretary, of the Darjeeling District Committee of SFI, stated that the education system of the state has become a hub of corruption. The number of students in schools has decreased since the COVID pandemic. Due to a lack of financial resources, several underprivileged children are not being able to continue with their schooling. Stating this, he added that they have arranged an alternative for education in rural and tribal areas. He added that they are conducting ‘School Chhoteder Schoole Ferao’ in the entire state and government schools should not be closed under any circumstances, and they are fighting for the said demand.
