SFI and Chhatra Parishad stages a torch rally in protest of Jamia incident

Siliguri, 30th January: The Students’ Federation of India and the Chhatra Parishad jointly organized a ‘Dhikkar’ torch rally, in Siliguri. The rally was staged against the open firing conducted by a supporter of BJP and RSS at a peace rally against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA) in Delhi, on Thursday.


The rally commenced and concluded at the Hashmi Chowk, after touring the various areas, where Home Minister Amit Shah’s effigy was burnt. The Darjeeling District SFI President Sagar Sharma, Secretary Shankar Majumdar, Chhatra Parishad President Shahnawaz Hussain, Vice-President Mohammad Imran, and several other Chhatra leaders were present at the rally.
