Siliguri, 22nd December: The SF Road in Siliguri is set to be reconstructed with a new approach, as Mayor Gautam Deb laid the foundation stone for the project on Sunday.
According to the details, a 1.3-kilometer stretch of the road will be newly constructed, with both sides of the road being widened to 3.75 meters each. The project will be carried out at an estimated cost of approximately ₹5.47 crore, under the North Bengal Construction Division of the Public Works Department (PWD). The work was officially inaugurated through a ceremony on Sunday.
Mayor Gautam Deb announced that the project is expected to be completed by August 2025. He also assured that measures would be taken to prevent any tree-cutting during the construction process, and arrangements would be made to relocate trees to other areas if necessary.
