Security arrangements reviewed at Siliguri College ahead of vote counting; three-tier security deployed

Siliguri, 03rd May: With the vote counting for the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for Monday, administrative officials carried out a comprehensive review of security arrangements at the counting centre located at Siliguri College.

Commissioner of Police Syed Waquar Raza and District Magistrate Harishanker Panicker visited the site and inspected the entire setup to ensure preparedness for the counting process. Officials examined security deployment and surveillance systems at the venue.

Speaking to the media, CP Syed Waquar Raza said that all preparations for the vote counting have been completed and assured that the administration is fully equipped to manage any situation that may arise.

The District Magistrate confirmed that a three-tier security arrangement has been implemented at the counting centre, compromising state police personnel, Central Armed Forces. The innermost security zone and counting halls will be under continuous CCTV surveillance.

Authorities emphasized that strict vigilance will be maintained throughout the process, and no lapses in security will be tolerated.

They added that all measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly counting process.
