Siliguri, 21st January: Few miscreants attempted robbery at the Shiv Shakti Kali Mandir at Gatebazar in Siliguri on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, the idol kept inside the temple was also broken.
According to sources, the locals visited the temple this morning and noticed that bamboos were placed inside the premises and all the items of the temple were scattered. The NJP police reached the spot after receiving the news. It has been reported that such incidents have occurred frequently earlier. After the incident, the locals are raising questions regarding safety.
The CCTV footage of the area is being investigated. However, it is not yet clear whether any jewelry has been stolen from the temple. The police are investigating the matter.
