Rajganj, 20th March: A person lost his life in a collision between a trailer and a small four-wheeler car in the Fulbari Jiyaganj area. The deceased has been identified as Asim Kumar Mitra (66), a resident of Deshbandhu Para in Siliguri.
According to local sources, a small four-wheeler car coming from Siliguri overtook a vehicle in the Jiaganj area and collided head-on with a trailer coming from the opposite direction. The trailer then fell on the roadside sewer. The driver of the car was severely injured in the incident. He was rescued and taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the trailer fled from the spot after the incident. Upon receiving the news, the Fulbari Traffic Out Post police and New Jalpaiguri Police reached the spot, recovered the vehicle, and started an investigation into the whole incident.
