Siliguri, 20th August: A representative team of the Green Tribunal inspected Siliguri’s Mahananda River and dumping ground. They visited different areas of the city along with Pollution Control Board officials and SMC officials. Officials of other departments were also present during the inspection.
The team visited various places of Siliguri and noted the condition of the rivers. They also inquired about the work being done by SMC to prevent water pollution. Green Tribunal member Shaibal Dasgupta spoke to the officials of SMC on various issues.
Goutam Deb said that officials from different departments have come and visited various places in the state. This will benefit the SMC areas.
